Filipino talents are really world-class. Just recently, Cristine Reyes won as the Best Actress at the 40th edition of the Porto International Film Festival. Her stellar performance in her latest movie Untrue bested other nominees from different countries.

Her management, VIVA Entertainment congratulated the 31-year-old actress in their social media post.

“Congratulations to our very own, Cristine Reyes for winning the BEST ACTRESS award at the recent OPORTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL in her portrayal of MARA in the film UNTRUE! We’re very proud of you,” Viva Entertainment wrote.

“Untrue”, a suspense-thriller drama, tells the story of Mara (Reyes), an abused woman who seeks help from the Georgian police to help her deal with her husband Joachim (Xian Lim). It then becomes a tale of “he said, she said” revealing the couple’s dark secrets from the past.

Untrue was filmed in Georgia, a country between Russia and Turkey.

As a matter of fact, the film was directed by Sigrid Andrea Bernardo, who helmed “Kita Kita.”

Prior to this, Cristine starred in action film Maria, wherein she portrayed a mother who is seeking her revenge against a drug lord who killed her family. In fact, the said film is now available on Netflix.
