Cindy Obeñita reigns as the newly crowned Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2021.

Her reply went viral after she received the questions regarding the value of luxury items during the Q&A segment of the pageant. It happened at Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Sunday. Obeñita was named as the wildcard finalist prior to the Q&A round, rounding out the Top 13 candidates in the pageant. The beauty queen eventually receives her crown alongside three other queens. They will represent the Philippines in upcoming international competitions.

Samantha Panlilio of Cavite won Binibining Pilipinas Grand International. Maureen Montagne of Batangas became Binibining Pilipinas Globe. Meanwhile, Hannah Arnold of Masbate won Binibining Pilipinas International.

During the Q&A portion, the renowned fashion designer Michael Cinco asked the 25-year-old beauty of Cagayan de Oro – Misamis Oriental.

“How important are luxury items like bags, clothes, and jewelry for a woman when the national economy is down and struggling?”

Cindy Obeñita carefully yet intelligently answered the interesting question. She said that women always have different choices.

“In life, we always find ourselves in a crossroad of choices. Women always have a choice – whether to prioritize luxury items while we are facing a pandemic, and we also have a choice to embrace the concept of a New Beautiful, which is responsive to the needs of the times, and adaptive to the change of times.”

Cindy crafted her next words with poise and grace by putting herself in the shoes of women posed with this dilemma.

“I think I would choose to be that woman, the one who understands the problems of the Philippines, the problems of my community, so that we may be able to uplift each other. I would be that kind of woman, to comfort the afflicted and afflict the comfortable.”

Cindy clearly understands what she’s talking about and she’s not afraid to voice this opinion. It also tried to cater to the perspective of both the privileged and underprivileged when it comes to the topic. In addition, to end her statement, she didn’t forget to incorporate herself, her experiences, and her perspective.

What a queen.
