Ariana Grande is Back To Save Pop Music

Ariana Grande - yes, and?

Ariana Grande will release her comeback single, ‘yes, and?’ the first one off her upcoming seventh studio album on January 12.

Finally, after three years of no new album, Ariana Grande has teased the world with the current music project she’s working on. The American pop superstar spoils her fans with muted video clips and photos of her in the studio with producer Max Martin. However, the vocals and sound of the album is yet to be heard.

This album will most likely encapsulate Ariana’s most transformative years of her life. Especially after all she had gone through these past four years.

Reconnecting with her theatrical roots

Ariana Grande opened her doors for acting this decade when she starred in the Netflix film ‘Don’t Look Up’. A month earlier, Grande officially landed the role of Glinda Upland in the upcoming movie adaptation of The Wicked. A dream come true for the pop star and a defining moment in her career. Moreover, it is exciting to finally see and hear Ariana get in touch with her theatrical voice and share it with the world.

Activities during the music hiatus

Ariana did leave the music scene entirely. She still made performances for her music fans by having a back-to-back collaboration with The Weeknd for Save Your Tears (Remix) and Die For You (Remix). However, having no solo song or album released was a huge loss for the music industry. Furthermore, she celebrated the 10th anniversary of her debut album ‘Yours Truly’ with special live performances and Q&A.

In most parts, she uses her social media to update fans about R.E.M. Beauty and sneak peeks from Wicked: Part 1.

Social media toxicity

While she was idle in the music industry, her name still rammed social media regarding several issues. One was about the leakage of her unreleased projects from her past work. A few were the ‘pov’ music video, ‘positions’ visualizers, and her first unreleased hit, ‘Fantasize.’

Moreover, her partial absence did not save her from receiving disrespect in social media. Ariana posted a TikTok video regarding the comments she was receiving about her body. She went on to educate people on how weight is personal and how ‘healthy’ could look different for everyone.

Moreover, Ariana’s relationships went on a rollercoaster ride. The world has seen her love story with Dalton Gomez through their engagement, marriage, and eventual divorce. A few weeks later, cheating allegations with co-star and now boyfriend Ethan Slater started to make headlines. She finally left Scooter Braun’s management after working together for many years.

Ariana Grande went through a lot of pain, happiness, and highs and lows these past few years. And now that she is making a comeback, this project will surely give us all the emotions and vocals that pop music has missed from her.
