Quarantine period has been giving us time to try new things and develop some soft skills. Actress, host, and vlogger Chesca Kramer shared her latest achievement — she bought veggie pods and started growing various kinds of vegetables in her own backyard.

Chesca posted series of photos on her Instagram account, showing her fully-germinated seeds and newly-sprouted vegetables placed in veggie pods they built around their house.

“I’ve been checking on my veggie pods. I’m so amazed because it’s only been three or four days. And my seeds have finally germinated. And as can you see, I already have my plants sprouting — my vegetables,” she wrote.

“I started planting these seeds Thursday night because we still had to assemble my veggie pods. So excited to be full of different kinds of vegetables,” she added.

Among the vegetables she planted were eggplants, pechay, kangkong, radish, tomatoes, and lettuce.

Three weeks ago, Chesca and her daughter Kendra harvested some veggies from their mini garden.

“Kendra along with yaya Josie was able to harvest quite a number of vegetables in our little garden. We started planting more again these past few days and they are growing pretty quickly and looking very healthy.

Our Harvest list:
. Onion Leeks
. Baby carrots
. Turmeric
. Ginger
. Tomatoes
. String beans
. Bell Pepper
. Green sili
. Pod of the moringa
. Monggo (not in photo)
. Egg plants
. Sigarilyas
. Sponge gourd

It doesn’t take much to grow these vegetables. If space is your concern there are vegetables that also grow well in pots or in containers. You can search online and get pointers on how to start growing your own organic vegetables and how to care for them. That is how I started.
