Why is my broken-hearted friend always going back to Yani Cafe?

I have been to random cafes around the Metro and the nearby area provinces. All I have seen within the Metro are cafes with air conditioning. But this cafe I discovered in the middle of the central city is different.

Yani Cafe

I have been strolling around Pasig City since childhood and have never been to any cafe. Until I discovered this cafe in Pasig’s central area, at the Kapasigan, it is not your typical cafe with its air conditioner on. It’s genuinely an al fresco cafe in the middle of the busy city of Pasig. It has everything that you are looking for in a restaurant.

What’s special?

It was not planned when I went to Yani Cafe on that day. My high school friend invited me to be there to have a coffee after a long day of staying at Pasig City Hall Library. It was around 5 PM, and I thought it was just a fresh-aired cafe. It’s not complete, but you’ll feel a calming ambiance as you enter. Something that surprised me is that their barista is unique too. On their counter, you’ll see a sign that says the barista is deaf. It was fresh and something new to experience at a cafe.

Don’t worry if you don’t know anything about sign language because you can point your order from their menu board ready on their counter or write it down.

You can play

They have this shelf where board games are available for you and your friends. My friend and I played Jenga while sipping our favorite coffee and tea; yes, they have fresh tea over their counter!

Cozy and Industrial

Just like what I have mentioned, Yani Cafe offers a welcoming ambiance in the middle of the city of Pasig. It truly gave me comfort to the point that we even went home at around 8 PM because of non-stop chit-chat with my dear friend about our lives.

With its cozy vibe yet industrial design, Yani Cafe sells art from local Filipino artists. They have shelves for these arts, and paintings are all hung on their wall.

Why does my broken-hearted friend love going back to Yani?

We felt welcomed and open within the hours of talking with my high school friend that day at the Yani Cafe. It gave us a new environment where we could share even our most embarrassing and heartbroken moments that happened to us within months of not catching up about our hearts’ whereabouts. And up until today, Yani Cafe has become our comfort cafe in the middle of the busy city.

You can visit Yani Cafe at 9A, Mabini St., Kapasigan, Pasig City, above the Robinsons Easymart.
