As the Philippine enters into eased quarantine restrictions, various transport sectors can now roam on streets of the metro with much more allowance. With more public utility vehicles going back to business, Pasig takes an initiative to come up with a brilliant transport solution. Say hello to MyToda, an app that meets the demands of both commuters and operators.

For benefit of tricycle drivers and customers

The pandemic hit a lot of those people who get by their daily income and that includes tricycle drivers. Quarantine restrictions had previously halted their operations. When allowed back in the streets, they could only ferry passengers at a limited capacity.

At first, there were many critics against the idea. They criticized for pressing tricycles back into service in March but Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto has remained undaunted and has come up with a plan to help displaced trike drivers. A few days ago, MyTODA became the first tricycle ride-hailing application in the Philippines. It is servicing Pasig as its pioneer city. Moreover, MyTODA does only cater to rides but also for the delivery and pabili services.

The first fleet of MyTODA drivers was introduced to Pasig trike-riding commuters yesterday, Oct. 27, at the SM City East Ortigas Transport Terminal. Up next on MyTODA’s planned expansion is a partnership with the Angono, Rizal local government, and SM Supermalls.

The app, which is available for download on Android phones, hopes to help distressed tricycle drivers by making their services available on demand. You can check if your area is serviceable by MyTODA app by checking its website.

Hope other local government units will also do the same thing for their constituents. Do you guys agree?
