Elsa Pataky, Chris Hemsworth’s wife, is a superhero in new movie!
Chris Hemsworth may be the big Hollywood name in the family at the moment. But Elsa Pataky has her own impressive list of film credentials. Although she did slow down a bit to focus on her family, you can still see her onscreen with her recurrent role in the Fast and the Furious franchise. This year, Pataky is set to return this year as a superhero lead in Interceptor!
Elsa Pataky wants to inspire her daughter as a female superhero
Chris Hemsworth is the executive producer behind this movie Interceptor. The plot of this film revolves around a driven woman who has nothing to lose and gets what she wants. Pataky says that this role is given to men most of the time. It’s important for her to star in this movie as a female superhero so her daughter can see her as a strong woman. A woman who can save the world.
“My daughter has seen her father as a superhero, which is great, but now it’s my turn.”
Chris Hemsworth pushes his wife Elsa to do the things that make her happy. Always on her side, he encourages her to commit her 100 percent on the job.
“He doesn’t want me to have any regrets. He is very supportive.”
Since this movie required Pataky to do several fight scenes and stunts, she has been training a lot for them. Her training with Ross Edgely mainly focuses on making her stronger. They deal with weights and one-hand push-ups. She also said that she trains four to five times a week and eats a bit more for the role.
Aside from the intensive training, Pataky mentioned some changes because they had to relocate to Sydney. Although it became an entirely new experience for them, their family loves the city. She said that she just misses dressing down in Byron. She also recalls how the kids enjoy and wildlife, and horseback riding.
Being a mom is the hardest job
Preparing for the movie and being a mom of three remain definitely a heavy load. However, Pataky is able to do all of it. The shoot affected her work-life balance. But she shared how she was able to handle it.
“It’s difficult. There comes a point where you also want to work, not just be at home with the kids. Doing both at the same speed isn’t always possible.”
Pataky explained that finding balance remains a process that all individuals experience. She feels grateful that she stayed home for her children during their younger years. She also made herself productive by getting into fitness and writing a book.
“It was also Chris’s moment to shine and I was fine with that. I knew my time would come again. Doing what you love is important to your sanity as a mother. We should be so proud of being mums – it’s the most difficult job in the world.”
Indeed, Elsa Pataky is the epitome of strong and courageous moms out there, working and taking care of their families. It’s not an easy feat. But like she said, “Women are capable a lot more than we think.”
We definitely agree with you, Pataky!
