These ASMR Artists Can Help You Fall Asleep Quickly

The pandemic and being in quarantine definitely ruined our body clock. Now that we’re getting back to how it was, there are still people who are experiencing difficulty sleeping. It’s always been a problem of mine and it got worse in 2020. Insomnia is one of the most common issues that impact our sleeping habits.  According to a study conducted by Health Grades Inc. in 2014, more than 10 million adults are suffering from insomnia here in the Philippines. This data was generated years ago so it’s hard to say how accurate it is now that things change tremendously.

Insomnia

According to SleepFoundation.org, insomnia is characterized by problems getting to sleep and staying asleep through the night. You may also find it hard to sleep as long as you like in the morning. Common factors that cause this are stress, inconsistent sleep patterns, and poor sleeping habits. Someone with mental health conditions including anxiety and depression may also suffer from insomnia.

Melatonin for Sleep

We can’t really tell the reason why we’re having trouble falling asleep unless we consult a professional. Unfortunately, this isn’t an option for everyone considering the expenses it might incur. One way to help you sleep is by taking a dietary supplement called Melatonin. Our brain naturally produces this hormone in response to darkness. However, some factors can block the production of melatonin. For this, there are available tablets that can be bought over the counter or even online.

Not everyone wants to resort to taking supplements for fear of being dependent. This concern is totally valid. Although melatonin is an effective sleeping aid, it might eventually affect our pineal gland which is the one responsible for its production. In a YouTube video titled, “Is Melatonin a Good Sleep Aid? – Dr.Berg on Melatonin Side Effects,” Dr. Eric Berg DC mentioned that every time we take a hormone, the gland that makes it stops producing it. I’ve already given in and kept a bottle of melatonin with me which I refused to take every day.

ASMR

On a daily basis, I would resort to listening to ASMR with my earphones on. Fortunately, it works like a lullaby for me. Autonomic Sensory Meridian Response or ASMR is a tingling and relaxing sensation that some people claim to experience in reaction to close attention or specific audio or visual stimuli.

In hopes that it will help you too, I’ve listed down five ASMR Artists on YouTube that greatly help me every night and serve as my sleeping aid for free.

Gibi ASMR

Gibi started uploading ASMR content in 2016. Since then, she’s been active in posting videos, making her gain 4.39 million subscribers. Gibi plays several amusing characters, such as the “wholesome gym bro who gives you a pep talk,” and engages in a lot of ASMR role-playing and cosplaying too.

Trisha Paytas ASMR

Trisha Paytas isn’t everyone’s cup of tea due to the dramas she was involved in. Surprisingly, her ASMR contents are satisfying to listen to and definitely give tingles. She has done a variety of things such as eating ASMR, role-playing, unboxing, etc.

Jocie B ASMR

If you are looking for makeup ASMR, Jocie B mostly uploads this kind of content. She started her YouTube career in 2018 and currently has 199 videos posted on her channel. There’s not much talking or whispering in her videos. Instead, she would do inaudible whispering and mouth sounds which can make you feel different kinds of tingles.

Gentle Whispering ASMR

Contrary to her channel’s name, Maria Viktorovna doesn’t only upload whispering videos. Actually, she has everything from keyboard typing, mouse-clicking, writing sounds, tapping, etc. It’s impossible you wouldn’t find your sleep trigger from hundreds of her videos.

ASMR Glow

ASMR Glow or Sharon Dubois would sometimes use multiple mics for best tingles. However, my ultimate favorite from her channel is ASMR Français where she speaks in French. The French language is naturally beautiful but I guess, the magic comes from listening to something you don’t understand. It puts me to sleep instantly.
