Alexandra Rosales blossoms in her Miss Supermodel National Costume
You might not be aware, but one of our Filipina queens competing in this highly booked pageant month of October is Alexandra Mae Rosales. The 26-year-old beauty queen from Laguna is currently in India to compete for the title of Miss Supermodel Worldwide 2022.
An alumna of Binibining Pilipinas, she, along with Gabrielle Basiano, Chelsea Fernandez, and Roberta Tamondong, are all competing at their respective international pageants.
For Miss Supermodel Worlwide’s national costume showcase, Alexandra went for the staple by wearing a national costume derived from a national symbol.
Designer Lanny Liwag called the creation “Sampaguita Blooms at Night”, and it takes inspiration from the Philippines’ national flower. The white Maria Clara dress very ornate with Sampaguita details scattered all throughout. The look finishes off with a complimenting white traditional parasol.
Furthermore, as what it represents, the costume aims to depict purity, fidelity, and hope. Adding the etymology of the name Sampaguita which comes from two Filipino words “sumpa kita”, which means “I promise you”.
Looking immaculate, Alexandra’s costume is an example of an ethereal concept for a classic piece.

An Indian-based modelling competition and beauty pageant, the motto of Miss Supermodel Worldwide is “Beauty with Intellect”. It aims to create awareness on global issues like hunger, global warming, domestic violence, and gender-based biases.
