Piolo Pascual is teaming up with Lovi Poe and Angelica Panganiban for two different television series.
A much-awaited comeback
The award-winning actor recently hinted at a comeback by saying “see you soon.”
To everyone’s surprise and excitement, this Thursday, September 16, he kept his word. The actor signed anew with ABS-CBN, his home network for many years.
The red carpet rolled out for Piolo before his contract signing with the Kapamilya network. Here, he was joined by ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Katigbak.
Also present was COO of Broadcast Cory Vidanes, Group CFO Rick Tan, Dreamscape Entertainment Head Deo Endrinal, and Piolo’s talent manager Lulu Romero.
Piolo will headline two new ABS-CBN programs, namely a television series with brand new Kapamilya star Lovi Poe and a romantic-comedy series with Angelica Panganiban.
In an interview with Cinema One last July, Piolo stressed that he never left the Kapamilya network. He mentioned that, despite not being visible on ABS-CBN shows since the shutdown of the station, he remained a Kapamilya.
In a span of 25 years under ABS-CBN, Piolo became a man of many talents. Yet, what truly brought him closer to audiences over the years are his shows and movies.
These works of art became part of viewers’ lives while being considered Filipino classics.
He had hit shows like Mangarap Ka, Lobo, Lovers in Paris, and Noah. He also starred in box-office films such as Dekada ’70, Starting Over Again, Milan, Don’t Give Up on Us, and so much more.
Piolo definitely solidified his status as the country’s most sought-after leading man and one of the finest actors of his generation.
He has proved that he is an immense talent. Pair that with the promising acting chops of his reported pairs, Lovi and Angelica, and you are surely in for a treat with these upcoming projects!
