PH Government eyes StaySafe.PH contact-tracing app’s nationwide full implementation

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque had a virtual press briefing last Friday. According to him, they have already prepared the StaySafe PH app – ready for utilization nationwide in the next ten days. Aside from that, he also reassured that they already fixed all the problems encountered with the mobile application.

“Wala na pong problema sa StaySafe app. As of yesterday, lahat ng gusot naiplantsa na. Full implementation of StaySafe app within 10 days.”

Roque also noted that the LGUs with their own contact tracing application has integrate it with their system. They would need StaySafe.Ph, as per order from the national government. According to Roque, this move also aims in boosting the country’s contact tracing initiative.

StaySafe PH – a contact-tracing application, available for both IOS and Android phone users. The application had an approval from the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF). They considered it as the “government’s application of choice.” They have mandated the national government agencies and LGUs to use the app last November.

Aside from being a contact tracing app, it also works as a health condition reporting. It also has a social distancing system. To use the app, a user only needs to register with a mobile number. After the registration, you can now report your health conditions, including your family members’.

Those who registered in the app will be notified about confirmed, probable, and suspected COVID-19 cases. It has a feature that allows users to avoid places with a high risk of COVID.
