From her childhood to her rise to fame, the series also shows the difficult and heartbreaking tough choices she and her family make to hold on to love and music. Dubbed as the ‘Queen of Tejano Music,’ her contributions to music made her one of the most celebrated Mexican-American entertainers of the late 20th century.

We have a multitude of celebrities citing her as an inspiration. People continue to celebrate her even after 25 years after her death. The show will follow her rise from a local Texas singer-songwriter to a global music phenomenon. Starring Christian Serratos — who is of Mexican and Italian descent — the series was described to be a coming-of-age story.

Throughout the past twenty years, Selena’s family has always dedicated themselves to preserving her memory. Netflix has already confirmed that the family helped develop and executive produce Selena: The Series.
