Miss World 2023 cancelled; finals moved to early 2024
Sad news for many pageant fans who are anticipating this year’s Miss World competition as the pageant has been canceled. The announcement was sent via email from the Miss World Organization to its national directors on October 19.
This was later confirmed by reigning Miss World 2022 Karolina Bielawska through an Instagram Story. In the said post, it is revealed that the pageant will now move its coronation to March of the following year.

According to the email, the pageant’s postponement was due to the recent elections happening in the host country of India. Initially scheduled on December 16, Miss World 2023 was set to take place in Delhi.
Along with the new date, an updated schedule was also released. Candidates will now arrive in India on February 3. There, a month-long series of pre-pageant activities will commence.
The 71st Miss World Finals will be taking place on March 2 where an estimated 130 candidates will be competing. This includes Miss World Philippines 2022 and the country’s representative Gwendolyne Fourniol.
As a result of this change, Miss World will be the only Major Pageant that will not hold its competition this year.
A member of the Big 4, other pageants include Miss Earth, whose finals will be held in December, Miss International, whose new queen will be chosen next week, October 26, and Miss Universe, whose crowning is just one month away on November 18.
