Miss International Queen Philippines 2023 to crown three titleholders

All roads lead to Aliw Theater on March 11 as Miss International Queen Philippines 2023 commences. By the end of this week, one will reign supreme – or should we say three?

That’s right, in giving more Filipinas the chance to represent the country internationally, the organization has acquired two additional franchises! Giving the candidates the boost they need to pull all the stops, the competition suddenly got more exciting.

In knowing how high the stakes are this year, here’s a little introduction about the three pageants.

Miss International Queen Philippines 2023 to crown three titleholders

Miss Trans Star International

Conceptualized in 2010, Miss Trans Star International takes place every year in Barcelona, Spain. Considered as Europe’s largest beauty pageant for transgender women, the pageant aims to increase transgender visibility in society.

In its 10-year run, the Philippines has yet to win the crown. Our country’s highest placement in the pageant was in 2018 with Maria Rivera placing as 2nd runner-up.

Miss Trans Star International 2018 2nd runner-up Maria Rivera of the Philippines along with the winner, Kulchaya Tansiri of Thailand, and Shantell D´ Marco (1st runner-up) of Cuba.

Miss Mardi Gras International Queen

Heading to the land down under, Miss Mardi Gras International Queen was created in 2011 in Australia. Its primary goals are to support Social Cohesion, Community Harmony, and Safe Sex within LGBTQI+ Community.

Not our first conquest to the crown, in 2021, Mariane Crisologo won the title.

And of course, the grand winner of Miss International Queen Philippines will be flying to Thailand to compete at Miss International Queen. As the biggest and most prestigious beauty pageant for transgender women, it started in 2004.

The reigning titleholder is Fuschia Anne Ravena of the Philippines. This means that her successor will vie to score a back-to-back win, hoping to earn the country’s its fourth crown.
