Mark Models’ Sophia Teng expresses herself through the art of modeling
With the radiance of her beauty and stellar artistry, Sophia Lorriane Teng is indeed a luminary to every young woman.
The signature of Mark Models bringing the new faces in the modeling scene continues to glare. Bringing out the inner glamour within her, a 21-year old girl-next-door can definitely pull off connecting with the taste of the public.
With the physique and strong points that she holds, Sophia can stun the impulse of everyone — may it be as a commercial or talent model. The perfect ace to scout for beauty campaigns and advertisements.
Vigorousness has always been attached to her
Raised as an artistic and sporty, she molds her mindset to become more hardworking, determined, and have perseverance.
Overflowing with brilliance, she also joins singing contests and participates in various events at school. Perhaps, vigorousness has always been attached to her.
However, her outlook during her teenage years colossally affected her. It was the time when she started to compare herself to others, which made her feel insecure about herself.
But during the period of quarantine for months, she redeemed herself. It gave her enough time to reconnect with herself and grow.
“Now, I’ve come to the understanding that it is inevitable to compare yourself to others but you just have to embrace your uniqueness to stand out from the rest. And instead of feeling insecure, I celebrate all kinds of beauty and am at peace with what I have and what I can offer,”
This mindset boosts her confidence especially today that she’s turning her dreams into a reality.
Expressing herself through the art of modeling
She expresses herself through art. Modeling is one of them.
Moreover, she revealed that it challenges her introverted self, which brings out her confidence.
At first, Sophia did not have any plans in setting foot into the modeling scene. But then she knew in herself that this career has always been in the back of her mind since she was young.
“I’ve been a fan of ASNTM and would literally try and copy the poses of the contestants and even practice my runway walk at the age of 12. Crazy.”
As a model, she looks up to Zendaya as she gives her own twist and interpretation of the mood of her projects. For her, what made her stand out is her character — being unafraid to push her limits.
“Aside from her modeling skills, I just adore her personality and how she is indeed beautiful inside and out,”
Exploring her facets
Aside from taking the spotlight of modeling, Sophia aims to be an entrepreneur. Currently, she is a senior studying at De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, taking up Export Management.
The aesthetic of life can also be captured within her as she also loves photography. Moreover, she enjoys greatly experimenting with different styles and pieces. No need to ask ‘cause she definitely knows that styling is a way of self-expression.
Other than these facets of Sophia, she mentioned more of her hobbies.
“I am an adrenaline junkie, so anything that involves outdoor activities, going on an adventure, and even physical challenges, I am totally game. While the other side of me enjoys quiet times like reading books, yoga, cooking, and watching movies,”
Patience, commitment, and adding fresh perspectives
The sweet dazzle and glamour in the modeling scene do not happen right away. It’s an ever-growing process. Sophia knows it.
She learned during the past couple of months that she needs to be patient and see where things lead. As she believes, ‘it is impossible to get it on your first try.’
“No matter how good-looking you are, beauty varies among people. You just have to be patient and pair it with hard work, you will get it,“
As she represents the legacy of Mark Models, she is driven with her eagerness to learn. In addition, she knows that she’s ready to commit and explore her skills with management.
Meanwhile, her limited experience in modeling doesn’t hinder her goal to provide high-quality photos, while adding a fresh new perspective for the clients.
“Overall, I believe that I have the skills, and good intuition to perform the best of my capabilities. I am a person who sticks by their morals and principles so I will be professional and practice good conduct at all times,“
