Lucifer is back and acting… strange — Season 5 premieres August 21 on Netflix

The devil is back and he’s not alone! The well-loved supernatural series Lucifer will be back for its fifth season. Netflix released the teaser for the much-awaited season comeback, introducing a dangerous new character who has a deep tie to the Devil and plans to disrupt his life.

The Season 5 premieres on Netflix on August 21.

Lucifer, bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, resigns his throne and abandons his kingdom for the gorgeous, shimmering insanity of Los Angeles, where he gets his kicks helping the LAPD punish criminals.

In the stunning and satisfying fifth season of Lucifer, the stakes are higher than ever. Secrets will be revealed, beloved characters will die, and we’ll finally get an answer to the question, “will they or won’t they?”

 Tom Ellis is back as Lucifer, who returns to Earth after resuming his role as King of the Underworld for a short time. However, it’s clear he isn’t the same as he was before, but it’s not because he’s changed — it’s because he is another character altogether: his twin brother, Michael.

Michael is an Archangel, Lucifer’s brother and a leader of God’s army. Of course, Michael and Lucifer’s twin look exactly the same. Worse still, it appears Michael is intent on destroying the life Lucifer built for himself on Earth.
