Gazini Ganados is ready to bring home the crown as she will be wearing a pair of “watawat” earrings at the grand coronation of Miss Universe — and it’s stunning!
The Philippine flag-inspired earrings were made by no less than Filipino designer Kathryn Fanlo. She revealed on her IG post the pair of earrings adorned with the colors and elements of our national flag which was worn by Ganados.
Fanlo called the earring pair “Watawat’ — a symbol of peace, unity, and Pinoy pride.
In a close-up photo of the earrings, part of Fanlo’s caption reads, “Wearing our flag with pride, thank you for helping promote local talent and showing the rest of the world our rich culture.”
Gazini has also been wearing several of the local designer’s accessories during pre-pageant activities, including the beautiful neckpiece that features a woman from the Ata tribe of Mindanao.
It can be remembered that Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray also wore a “Three Stars and the Sun” ear cuff at her coronation night. In fact, Gazini’s new iconic “patriotic” earings just proved how globally competitive and talented our local designers are!
Meanwhile, Gazini Ganados is currently in Atlanta, Georgia for the Miss Universe pageant. The grand coronation night will be held on December 9 (Monday) at Tyler Perry Studios.
