Kendrick Lamar returns with his fifth solo album

The wait is finally over. After almost five years of hiatus from the music scene, Kendrick Lamar is back as if he never left as he shocked the Hip-Hop world by dropping his fifth solo album “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers.”

With the equivalent of 295,500 sales in its first week of release, Kendrick Lamar regained his status as the king of Billboard as his fifth album landed in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts.

According to the Luminate music tracking service, the much-anticipated album also garnered 343 million clicks on different streaming services.

Kendrick’s fifth album also knocks over Bad Bunny’s album Un Verano Sin Ti as the largest album to collect overall sales in its first week on the Billboard 200.

What’s Inside the Kendrick Lamar’s fifth album

The 18-track double album features guest collaborations from top artists like Kodak Black, Ghostface Killah, Sampha, Beth Gibbons of Portishead, and many more.

But what got fans more excited? It is when Kendrick Lamar revealed the cover artwork for “Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.”

This got the fans excited because the couple did indeed just have their second baby. And as we all know, Kendrick is typically a very private person.

Days before dropping “Mr. Morale,” Kenny released a music video for his newest promotional single “The Heart: Part 5.” The music video features the 34-year-old rapper’s face morphing into OJ Simpson, Kanye West, Will Smith, and the late Kobe Bryant and Nipsey Hussle.

Kendrick Lamar also announced his plans for his international tour, The Big Steppers Tour, featuring Baby Keem and Tanna Leone. The jaunt is scheduled to begin in Milan, Italy on June 23.
