Henry Golding is expecting his first child with wife Liv Lo

Malaysia-born British actor Henry Golding is expecting his first child with wife Liv Lo, a Taiwanese television presenter and yoga instructor. The two met in 2011 and became engaged in 2015. They got married in Sarawak, Malaysia in August 2016.

Henry Golding announces Liv Lo’s pregnancy on Instagram!

The 33-year-old Crazy Rich Asians star announced the news on Instagram. He also posted this on Friday, November 6. Of course, the photo consists of him and his radiant wife smiling widely towards the camera. The caption, then, reads:

“2021 is already looking brighter ❤️👼🏻”

Liv also posted her own Instagram photo. This photo, on the other hand, consists of her hand resting gently on her bare stomach. Meanwhile, one swipe reveals an ultrasound photo. Her caption, then, reads:

“Here’s the kicker 👣 boy or girl?”

Celebrities flocked to their Instagram comments, congratulating the couple. This includes Henry’s Crazy Rich Asian co-stars Awkwafina, Ken Jeong, the book’s author Kevin Kwan, and the film’s director John M. Chu.

Spending the lockdown together

In an interview with GMA News’ Hollywood Insider, Golding shared how he spent the lockdown with Lo.  Due to being cast in the all-Asian romance flick, he had to spend some time away from his (at the time) newlywed bride.

Because of COVID-19 and the lockdowns, he and his wife were able to spend almost an entire year with just the two of them.

“Being able to spend the time with my wife, that we haven’t been able to since we got married in August 2016. Six months after we married, I got the role of “Crazy Rich Asians.” So ever since then, it has been this whirlwind of traveling, of like of working, of getting things together.”

“It’s only up until this period of time that we’ve been able to stay in one part of the country for longer than a month or 2 months and we’ve spent a good 9, 10 months together, which has been phenomenal for our relationship and planning for future things. I am thankful to have this time.”
