From livestream to TV: More viewers can now watch Kumusta Bro?

The country’s first-ever interactive digital boys’ love (BL) series ‘Kumusta Bro?’ arrives at another platform to reach a broader audience and further entice its fanbase. From a weekly digital series that can be viewed live via the Kumu app through mobile devices, it is now being transformed into an official TV show.

Streamed live straight from the houses of the actors, the series tells the story of old friends who get reunited through the live stream app, and together with the audience, the boys rediscover how it is to fall in love online. Additionally, the audience has the power to help shape the story. It is the first-ever series to use a live stream app as the main platform.

Under Firestarters Studios, ‘Kumusta Bro?’ dropped its first teaser recently on its social media pages as a year-end gift to fans and pasabog for the upcoming series which will be streaming soon, come early 2021.

The series stars Sky Quizon and Kristof Garcia as Thirdy and Bench, respectively. They are joined by Allen Cecilio and RJ Agustin. In the new episodes, we will also witness the acting debut of JM Mendoza from the Kumusta Bro (Search for the 5th Bro).

They shot the next episodes in Tagaytay, where they were locked-in for the duration of the taping.

In an exclusive interview with Village Pipol, one of its leading men, Kristof, shared with us how he relates to his character and the lessons he picked up while filming.

“Yung character kasi ni Bench dito ay medyo malapit sa akin. Same with Bench, mahilig mag workout, medyo makulit at masiyahin. What I like about Bench’s character is pag nagmahal si Bench wala siyang inhibitions, walang tinitira sa sarili at handang isuko ang lahat para sa taong mahal niya. Hindi siya natatakot sa sasabihin ng iba at dun sa part na yun ako sobrang naka-relate.”
Furthermore, Kristof discussed how through the series, he was made more aware of the struggles of the LGBT community, “Ang daming kwento na dapat marinig.  Madami din akong na discover about sa struggles ng bawat character at malalaman niyo ‘yan once napanood niyo na ang Kumusta Bro. naging eye opener to sakin at lalo akong napamahal lalo na sa mga relatives and friends ko na part ng community.”

His hopes are high for the show as Kristof believes that it has much potential to touch viewers in different ways.

Catch ‘Kumusta Bro?’ soon and follow its official social media pages as well as Firestarters’ for more updates.
