BUSINESS PROPOSAL: Lee Deok-hwa gives Kim Se-jeong a coffee truck
Business Proposal became the first-ever Korean drama I’ve watched after a long time. I was so heartbroken from Goblin that I swore off Korean dramas for a long time. I started watching Business Proposal when my older sister had it playing on the television. Then, I felt really curious about the entire story. So, I watched it.
Just in case you didn’t know, Business Proposal revolves around protagonist Shin Ha-ri living a double life as another person to replace her friend, Young-seo, on a blind date.
They continue this schtick when she replaced her on a blind date with Kang Tae-moo, the new CEO of Go Food aka the company that Ha-ri works at. Her identity was revealed and they genuinely fall in love.
Unfortunately, his grandfather, Chairman Kang Da-goo, didn’t like the way they lied to him. So, he tries to stop their relationship from going further.
Thankfully, the strain behind their two characters didn’t reflect in real life as Lee Deok-hwa sends Kim Se-jeong a gift.
Last July 10, Business Proposal starLee Deok-hwa gave Se-jeong a coffee truck. The banner also wrote, “Do you want to on a blind date with my grandchild, Ms. On Ma Eum? It’s because I like you (a wordplay on Ma Eum). Sejeong-ah, I’ll always be rooting for you. Hwaiting!”
Business Proposal star Se-jeong showed her appreciation for the gift when she shared photos of the coffee truck on her Instagram account.
“Ma Eum is lucky to be able to receive love from Ha Ri’s grandfather-in-law. I respect you, sunbaenim. It was a really, really happy day. I miss you.”
If you don’t know the reference, Se-jeong is currently starring in a new Korean drama, Today’s Webtoon. It’s an adaptation of the 2016 Japanese series, Sleepeer Hit! She plays former judo athlete On Ma Eum who later joined Neon Webtoon’s editorial department. The series will also premiere on Viu on July 29.
