Barbie Imperial leaves ‘Pasabuy,’ Heaven Peralejo gets cast in role
Heaven Peralejo has been cast in the lead role of the upcoming romantic comedy series Pasabuy. She replaced previously announced actress Barbie Imperial.
Heaven will star opposite fellow Pinoy Big Brother graduate Gino Roque in the Xian Lim-helmed series. It started its 10-day quarantined filming in Batangas this week.
Heaven and Gino will be joined in the cast by other starting actors and actresses. They include Ella Cayabyab, MJ Cayabyab, Ralph Malibunas, Gail Banawis, Kim Perez, and TikTok star Nana Silayro. There will also be a special appearance from rock band I Belong To The Zoo.
The producer WeTV announced that Barbie Imperial got “released from the show due to personal issues.” Star Magic, the talent agency of both Peralejo and Imperial, declined a request for comment.
“Barbie had already taken part in pre-production activities — including announcements on social media, and the initial script-reading with Gino, Xian, and the rest of the cast — when the change was made.”
Heaven Peralejo and Barbie Imperial were only recently co-stars in the ABS-CBN afternoon drama Bagong Umaga. Said show got concluded in April.
The 10-part Pasabuy, which was also written by Xian Lim, centers on the blooming romance between Anna and John. The young executive, Anna, will be played by Heaven Peralejo and the artist, John, will be played by Gino Roque. The two characters meet through a “pasabuy” community chatroom during the pandemic.
Anna and John bond over quarantine lifestyle trends and finding comfort in each other. They must then navigate sustaining their relationship beyond the lockdown.
On the other hand, replaced actress Barbie Imperial just turned 23 years old just recently. She received the sweetest message from her boyfriend Diego Loyzaga. The mother of the actor, Teresa Loyzaga also has Barbie a sweet message. Many fans admire how supportive the actress is of their relationship.
