Avril Lavigne to finally perform in Manila on November

Pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne is finally set to perform at the Araneta Coliseum in November after several tour date postponements.

Originally, Lavigne was supposed to stop by Manila for the Head Above Water concert in 2020 but it was canceled due to the pandemic. The concert was rescheduled to May 2022 but is pushed back again to November.

Concert organizers Wilbros Live announced the tour date via their Facebook account, saying “…we hope to see you all at Avril Lavigne’s concert in November. YES, IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING!!”

The Canadian hitmaker will finally return to the Philippines after eight years. She last performed in Manila during The Avril Lavigne Tour back in 2014.

Aside from the Manila show, she will also perform in several cities in Japan, including Tokyo and Osaka, in November.

Lavigne is also set to perform with other 2000s rock bands and artists, like My Chemical Romance and Paramore, for the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas in October.

She recently released her seventh studio album called Love Sux on February 25. It features her single Bite Me which was released back in November 2021.

Lavigne rose to fame in the 2000s as a pop-punk/punk-rock singer. Her hit songs Sk8tr Boi, I’m With You, Complicated, among many others, remain fan favorites to this very day. She had eight Grammy nominations in 2003 and 2004 for her Let Go album.

Fans all over the world are excited to finally see their teenage idol back on stage. And Filipino fans surely can’t wait to see this pop-punk princess again!
