Mrs. Universe 2023 to be held in the Philippines
In its search for “the most honorable married woman,” Mrs. Universe will be returning to the Philippines after five years. Staging its 46th edition, the competition will take place in October.
On February 27, The Mrs. Universe Organization released a statement on social media informing its national directors and their candidates. Stating that the pageant will run from October 1, with its coronation slated for October 9.
The pageant is expecting attract around 100 candidates to compete for the title. Current titleholder, Elena Maksimova of Russia will be crowning her successor at the end of the event.

As one of the biggest international beauty pageants for married women, Mrs. Universe began in 1977. Based in Sofia, Bulgaria, the pageant aims to honor spouses from all around the world. Believing that “physical beauty is just a part of the whole allure of a person”.
In 2018, the country hosted Mrs. Universe for the first time, taking place in Cebu. With a total of 85 candidates, Julia Gershun of Monaco took home the crown.
Adding to the many global stints hosting their finals in the country, 2023 is looking like a promising year for the Philippines. While the pageant has yet to crown a Filipina, that could very much happen this year.
