Miss Universe to have an all-female hosting team for its 2022 edition

Miss Universe officially announces this year’s all-female hosting team. Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo and Emmy award-winning TV personality Jeannie Mai Jenkins will host the pageant’s coronation night on January 14.

The announcement was made through a social media post on Wednesday, January 5. They will be replacing Steve Harvey, who had hosted the pageant since 2015.

Olivia will be hosting Miss Universe for the second time; having previously did so in 2020 with Mario Lopez. Jeannie on the other hand has also work with the pageant in the past, serving as a backstage commentator from 2011 to 2014.

Joining them are Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray and American entertainment reporter Zuri Hall. Gray and Hall will serve as the final’s backstage commentators.

This is the first time since 2001 that the pageant had an all-female hosting line-up. In the said year, it was hosted by supermodels Elle MacPherson and Naomi Campbell.

This change in the hosting line-up is part of the organization’s goal to run the pageant through an all-female management. As told by Miss Universe President Paula Shugart:
