Bretman Rock looks fierce as the first openly gay man on cover of Playboy

Bretman Rock made history as he became the first openly gay man to grace the cover of Playboy magazine.
He appeared on the men’s lifestyle magazine’s October 2021 issue, sharing two versions of the cover on his social media.
On the cover, the beauty influencer fiercely donned a corset, platform heels, and bunny ears and tail.
Bretman, posting about his two covers, said,
“I’m a Playboy bunny. DUHHHHHH,”

The cover got positive feedback, especially from Bretman’s over 17.7 followers on Instagram.
However, it also got its fair share of bashers, specifically from people who believed gay men do not belong on Playboy.
On Instagram, Bretman shut down haters of his cover by posting more photos of himself as the Playboy bunny.
“Da Baddest Bunny. Posting to piss off more straight men, if you’re pissed [because] I turn you on then say that. Geez,”
Moreover, Playboy defended their choice of putting Bretman on the cover, saying they have received “far too many offensive” comments regarding it.
Last week, we released our first-ever cover with an openly gay model, @bretmanrock. Since posting, we've received a lot of great comments, but far too many offensive ones as well.

The men’s lifestyle magazine wrote,
“If a gay man feels sexy in a bunny costume, an iconic symbol of sexiness, why shouldn’t he be able to wear it proudly?”
Furthermore, they said,
“Serving as a platform for representation and freedom of expression is and will always be what Playboy stands for.”
Bretman Rock rose to fame for his YouTube vlogs and beauty tutorials, having over 8 million subscribers.
He was born in the Philippines and moved to Hawaii when he was little.
More power to Bretman and Playboy magazine! Continue being a platform for representation!
