5 Ways to Beautify your Christmas Tree

Christmas season is finally here. It’s the season that excites everyone, from kids to kids at heart. Who wouldn’t be excited for a holiday that is festive, grand, and all fun?

Shopping sprees, parties, giveaways, and presents bring us into the Christmas mood. Of course, exquisite and intricate decor completes it all. Now that decor is mentioned, it is not Christmas without Christmas trees decked with frills, glimmer, and other knick-knacks. This season is the perfect time to unleash our creativity through our Christmas trees, and here is my own take.

Think of a theme

Before you start decorating, it’s best to think of a central theme that you want for your canvas. A theme gives you direction and also serves as a guide in decorating. Examples of themes you can try are winter wonderland, gingerbread house, local or Pinoy style, contemporary, minimalist, floral, and more.

Follow a cohesive color scheme

If coming up with a theme is too complex, then you can also stick with color as motifs. Ensure that the color you chose will be shown throughout your Christmas tree. Are you a vanilla-type of person? Then go for classic red and gold or red and green. How about classy and sophisticated? Try gold, white, and neutrals. Wanted to experiment? Candy colors are for you.

Choose unique ornamentals

Most of us fill our trees with Christmas balls, poinsettias, and garlands. Though there is no wrong here, it looks generic. Why not choose Christmas balls with different shapes, patterns, textures, and sizes? You can also mix poinsettia with other florals such as rosettes, calla lilies, hydrangeas, and even preserved flowers, leaves, and twigs. Christmas trees could be also adorned with cute, Christmas-themed toys and animal plushies, nutcrackers, and angels.

Fill the gaps in your Christmas tree

Make your Christmas tree lush by avoiding spaces or gaps. You can achieve this effect by clustering decors or ornaments together. For instance, gather floral elements and other similar types together like a bouquet. Same with Christmas balls, stick three to each other or just choose a bigger size. Poofy laces tied as ribbons are good options as well.

Christmas trees are not complete without shine and sparkle. To bring it all together, add lights to your tree. Lastly, to top it off—literally, use a topper. You can use anything from the traditional star, angel, or ribbon.
