When at Pasig, what to eat?

Just imagine that you are taking a stroll through a busy city. Tall buildings are through the streets. Significant historical sites are all woven together with the rich culture and traditions of the Philippines. Welcome to Pasig City, a place where heritage and modernity coexist peacefully. Where urban growth harmoniously complements the surrounding landscape. A nexus of diverse communities, each of which adds its own distinctive flavors to the city’s rich landscape. Pasig City offers a dynamic experience that leaves you yearning for more, from vibrant celebrations to delicious cuisine.

DIMAS-ALANG BAKERY

With its old name, Dimas-Alang bakery is a hundred-year-old bakery located in the heart of Pasig City. The bakery was a branch of a more established one called Dos Hermanos, which belonged to the Raymundo family and had an unspecified beginning. However, when Teresa Raymundo took control in 1919, she changed the name to Panaderia Dimas Alang, which is short for “touch me not” or “Noli Me Tangere,” Jose Rizal’s well-known pen name.

Since the beginning, it is only a single store. It is one of the oldest bakeries in the Philippines and undoubtedly the oldest of all business establishments in Pasig City.

Old-style bread is still available in their product line, including the well-known Kamachile, Pan de Niyog, Pan de Barra, Aglipay, Popo, Biscocho de Cana, Bonete, Galletas, and the biscuit known locally as Hindi Ko Akalain (a real original and best seller).

They also make an effort to create new lines to keep up with the times. Cakes, Egg Pie, and Brazo de Mercedes are a few of these. Turones de Dimas-Alang is also included in the line. It uses a variety of local fruits, both seasonal and perennial.

MASAMURA RAMEN

Located at the corner of the street, Masamura Ramen is a go-to place when you wanted some good hot noodle soup. With its affordable ramen and accommodating staff, you’ll surely come back to this place.
