realme aims to launch a new affordable smartphone for the last quarter of this year. This represents the more budget-friendly choice within the realme 11 series. Introducing the #realme11, set for official launching on November 9, 2023.
Our team had the privilege of obtaining the unit before the official launch. Staying true to our tradition, we will share our unboxing and initial impressions of this device. Marketed for its fast charging and gaming capabilities, will realme 11 live up to expectations?
Just like in the recently released realme 11 series, the realme 11 is housed within the conventional yellow realme box with black accents. Furthermore, its design looks sleek and clean. On the front, it prominently displays the brand and model, while the sides showcase the branding and model name. Meanwhile, the back highlights key specifications, features, and regulatory details.
As you open the box, realme greets you with a warm message, “Hey, Welcome to the realme family”. This appears on a mini phablet-like box. Inside this mini phablet-like box, you’ll find the SIM ejector, Quick Guide, warranty documents, and a free jellycase. Further unwrapping reveals the realme 11, covered in eco-plastic. Positioned at the base are the USB-A to USB-C cable, and the 67W SuperVOOC charging adapter. Both of these accessories are white in color.
Build and Aesthetics
Upon unboxing and having the first sight of this model, it definitely looks sophisticated and could pass as a premium device, much like its older brothers, the realme 11 Pro 5G and realme 11 Pro+ 5G.
For this review, we got our hands on the Glory Gold color variant. This one looks really stunning, with the back covered in glittery gold accents that become more visually appealing when struck by light. Furthermore, the back appears to be smudge-free, which is a plus factor for me. In addition, it houses the rear camera, which, similar to its older siblings, is in a circular form. Moreover, the sides of the camera are also covered in gold, adding sophistication to the unit.
Flipping to the front, you will be greeted by a 6.4-inch screen. Furthermore, on the upper-left, the punch hole front camera is located.
We will delve deeper into its other features in our full VP Tech Review.
Side Keys and Ports
The panel sides feature slim and flat surfaces. Additionally, the unit’s sides sport gold accents, complementing its sophisticated appearance. Meanwhile, housed on the upper left side is the Nano-SIM Tray, while the right side accommodates the volume rocker and power button.
On the top, it has a tiny microphone hole, and the bottom houses the USB-Type C charging port and speaker grills. Additionally, this unit has a 3.5mm audio jack, so you can use your wired earphones or headsets.
One of the standout features of realme smartphones is their fast charging capability. The realme 11, equipped with a substantial 5000mAh battery and partnered with a 67W SUPERVOOC Charger, can charge up to 50% in just 17 minutes and reaches a full charge in 45 minutes, as per the spec sheet. Additionally, its charging interface is calibrated with realme’s proprietary charging algorithms for safety purposes. This includes the VCVT Intelligent Tuning Algorithm and Dual Charge Pump Technology. Furthermore, realme incorporates 38 levels of protection to ensure safe charging.
We will delve deeper into this feature in our upcoming VP Tech Review. Stay tuned.
Equipped with a MediaTek Helio G99, a flagship-tier chipset commonly found in recent gaming 4G smartphones. realme 11 promises to deliver a seamless gaming experience with most of today’s popular games. Moreover, it operates with 6nm architecture efficiently, and it’s paired with a powerful Arm Mali-G57 MC2 GPU alongside an octa-core setup. Furthermore, it is complemented by x2 Arm Cortex-A76 Cores clocking up to 2.2GHz and x6 Arm Cortex-A55 Cores reaching 2.0GHz.
In our initial testing using the basic settings, the realme 11 provides a smooth gaming experience with Mobile Legends Bang Bang. Moreover, realme’s exclusive game space app offers additional optimizations for an enhanced gaming experience.
