Former Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle and now Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples in Vatican, Rome is set to lead the Catholic faithful Wednesday in praying the “Healing Rosary for the World” as part of addressing the threat of the global pandemic COVID-19.

Italy is among the hardly-hit countries by COVID-19 with over 417,000 people infected and 793 fatalities.

The prayer will commence 9 PM in Philippine Time from the Pontifico Collegio Filippino.

Manila Cathedral published the statement which read, “Because of the overwhelming response of Filipinos who joined our Worldwide Rosary, we are now initiating every Wednesday night the HEALING ROSARY FOR THE WORLD.

“This Wednesday, March 25, Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord, at 9:00pm local time, His Eminence Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle will be leading us in the praying of the Rosary live from the Pontificio Collegio Filippino in Rome. Please go to our Facebook page and press the LIKE and FOLLOW buttons so you can watch the livestream and let us again as one nation, pray for healing and protection.”

In fact, this event will be held live and be witnessed via streaming on Facebook. As intercession for those affected, Tagle’s prayer will proceed after the Lord’s Prayer by Pope Francis at noon in Rome.

Moreover, the Pope is also giving the usual blessing he gives during Christmas Day and Easter. This is called Urbi et Orbi (to the city and the world).
