Shopee recently partnered with Unilab to provide aid to the families and individuals affected by the widespread fire in Mandaue and Typhoon Paeng that hit Cavite.
Shopee delivered 40,000 medicine tablets and 14,000 bottles of vitamins for over 250 families. These are donated by Unilab to the residents of Bacoor, Cavite who were affected by severe tropical storm Paeng. They also aided over 350 families in Mandaue, Cebu who were displaced due to a massive fire. Its volunteers in the area also helped with the distribution to affected individuals.
Martin Yu, Director at Shopee Philippines, said “We are sorry to hear about the people affected by Typhoon Paeng. Also, by the huge fire that displaced our fellow Filipinos. We partnered with Unilab to help the affected families and individuals in need during this difficult time. At Shopee, we are committed to using our platform and resources to serve the local community. We hope to be able to work with Unilab again, as well as more organizations that share our belief. This is so that we can better serve all Filipinos wherever they are in the country.”
These efforts are part of Shopee Bayanihan, Shopee’s umbrella CSR arm that seeks to provide support for communities in need through partnerships with various companies and humanitarian organizations.
