Meet the Fil-American student who got accepted at all 8 Ivy League schools
The Philippine made a win today thanks to the inspiring success of a Filipino-American student named Craig McFarland after managing to get in to all the Ivy League schools.
Yes, you’ve read that right. Across countries, our own have been making it in various fields, be it young or not, especially in the academics.
8 Ivy League Schools
18-year-old McFarland received the good news that he got accepted in Dartmouth College, Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Harvard University, Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, and Yale University. This is the kind of decision-making problem all our parents would be delighted for us to experience!
This young man has been making the remarkable since. He’s a senior at Stanton College Preparatory School in Jacksonville, Florida, and was the valedictorian of his class with a 4.98 GPA. As a matter of fact, he’s never even had a single “B” since entering high school. Call him a nerd, but that is just extremely impressive.
More colleges and universities
Apart from the Ivy League schools, there were even more other institutions eager to take him in. A total of 17 colleges and universities, including Duke University, Emory University, and the Georgia Institute of Technology, as well as full scholarships to Florida State University and the University of Florida.
His mother, Donabel Santiago, shared in an interview with First Coast News how proud she is with her son, “I’m very proud of him. Of course, Yale is enough, but for him to get accepted to all of it. It’s like wow. I’m just so thankful. I’m just so happy.”
Still making up his mind on which school to enter, McFarland eyes studying medicine or law in order to create an impact in the world his in.
