The Phenomenal Star is now a singer. Maine Mendoza is set to release her first official single Parang Kailan Lang under Universal Records Philippines. The 24-year-old TV host actress has decided to enter a new field and explore her capabilities as an actress.
In an interview with Nelson Canlas for 24 Oras, Maine said she feels nervous and pressured on her new milestone.
“Medyo kinakabahan ako, Sir Nelson. Kasi hindi ko alam kung magugustuhan ba ng mga fans. Siyempre, yun naman ang gusto kong mangyari, di ba? Sana po magustuhan nila. Yun lang ang hinihiling ko,” she said.
Prior to her first single, Maine has already recorded a song for her movie with Alden Richards Imagine You & Me in 2016.
Maine, who likes singing as her hobby, shares that recording a song has always been her favorite thing to do before entering showbiz — aside from Dubsmash, of course!
“Akala nila, gusto ko talagang mag-singer. Pero ginagawa ko lang naman yun out of boredom and curiousity na din. So, sino bang mag-aakala na magkakatotoo talaga,” she jokingly shared.
According to Maine, her song “is about a girl who reminisces her past with someone.” In fact, this is set to be released on March 20.
Unsurprisingly, although her new song is not released yet, it’s already selling like hot cakes online. In fact, it was the Number 1 pre-ordered item on iTunes Philippines for consecutive days as of Friday.
