Japanese animation film A Whisker Away to premiere on June 18

Today, May 29, Netflix announced that the Japanese animation film A Whisker Away will be launched globally on June 18, 2020. Also known as Nakitai Watashi wa Neko o Kaburu, is Netflix’s latest entry to the anime genre. This upcoming film will become a smash hit among anime fans across the globe.

A Whisker Away: The Premise

Miyo Sasaki, nicknamed “Muge” meaning “infinitely mysterious,” has a bright personality and is full of energy at school and at home. She is also secretly in love with her classmate Kento Hinode. Miyo tries repeatedly to get Kento’s attention, but he takes no notice of her. She realizes that the only way to get close to him is to transform into a cat, but at some point, the boundary between herself and the cat becomes ambiguous, and she is forced to give up her life as a human… 

Breathing life to the adorable characters are Mirai Shida (Ghibli’s “The Secret World of Arrietty”, Ghibli’s “The Wind Rises”), Natsuki Hanae (“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” and “Tokyo Ghoul”), Koichi Yamadera (“Ghost in the shell: SAC_2045) and more!

The film is directed by Junichi Satoh (“Sailor Moon”) and Tomotaka Shibayama, written by Mari Okada (“Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day”, “The Anthem of the Heart”), produced by Twin Engine under the animation production Studio Colorido.
