ICYMI, SM MOA will open a new drive-in cinema on September 9!

For some of us, it’s always been a dream to go on dates to those drive-in theaters we always see in movies. Call us romantic or whatever but there’s something special on looking up in the dark sky while watching your favorite movie outdoors. Glad that we do not have to wait for long since this health crisis is reviving this entertainment trend!

Enjoy a cinematic view inside your vehicle

Even though the government is already easing on the restrictions, movie theaters are remaining closed. But SM has found a brilliant way to provide entertainment and recreation while regarding the safety of its customer. SM‘s first drive-in cinema at the SM Pampanga Amphitheater officially went into operation almost two months ago. And now, those living in Metro Manila will be able to enjoy within just a few minutes of driving!

You don’t have to drive all the way to Pampanga to experience a drive-in cinema. SM’s “Movies By The Bay” is going to show films from Wednesday to Sunday at the MOA concert grounds in Pasay City. Each ticket costs P400, inclusive of snacks. We don’t have a list of the movies they’ll be showing yet. However, they will surely include big films like Wonder Woman 1984 and Disney’s live-action adaptation of Mulan.

Similar in SM Pampanga Amphitheater, the mall advises moviegoers to limit their capacity to 2 to 4 people inside each to optimize the viewing experience. There are traffic marshalls who guide and assign guests to their own parking spots. After settling to a spot, they can watch the film on a 20 x 8 m screen raised three feet above the ground. For audio, they will tune in to a specific frequency on their car’s FM radio.
