Heart Evangelista bares her anxieties, coping mechanisms in KMJS episode

Heart

In a special heart-to-heart conversation with top-notch Kapuso broadcaster Jessica Soho, dubbed ‘Queen of Creative Collaborations’ herself, Heart Evangelista shared the ups and downs of being a prominent personality in the industry.

Yes, she might present to us as the woman who have got it all. What with a fancy life in the spotlight, a talented hand in painting, and a fashion sense that transcends internationally, yes, from the surface Heart really is living the life of our dreams.

However, contrary to what people think of her, she also experiences her share of downs as well as her ups. Having the attention she’s getting is not at all easy as it seems to be because she too can feel pressure and sadness, like us. We often forget that celebrities are humans still, at the end of the day.

In the latest episode of ‘Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho,’ she bared the depression she has been dealing with.

“Without me knowing, ‘yung pressure din ng social media, iyong pressure ng tao, dapat lagi kang maganda, kailangan lagi kang nauuna. Although hindi naman ako super ganoon, siguro subconsciously minsan, ‘pag may mga nasasabi tungkol sa’yo, akala mo hindi ka naapektuhan, but then it affects you. And, nagpa-pile up siya,” she shared.

Of course, Heart do not just ignore her bashers, as most artists are expected to. In fact, she gets really affected by them and it contributes to her anxieties as well.

“In fact, gusto ko siyang pag-usapan kasi porke’t nakikita ka nilang maganda ‘yung suot mo, mahal ‘yung bag mo, you’re living the life, feeling nila okay ka lang saktan. Feeling nila perpekto ‘yung buhay ko, na sa akin na ang lahat, it’s not,” she tearfully said.

Heart and her anxieties

Apparently, she has been suffering from anxieties, as manifested by her earlier miscarriages. She is also diagnosed with the Burning Tongue Syndrome, where she suddenly feels numbness throughout parts of her body, therefore causing her to lose function at times.

“Basically, people just live with this condition na parang nasusunog iyong bibig mo. Tapos minsan, kumakalat siya sa gums, and it’s very painful.”

Good thing, Heart draws strength and encouragement from her amazing support system consisting of her beloved pets, her friends and glam team, her fans, and husband Chiz Escudero. They are the ones that keep her going.

Blessed with a knack for many things, she keeps herself entertained by these creative outlets. Recently, she admits having so much fun making TikTok videos as it gives her means to be productive and wear the items sent to her by many brands.

“I feel productive kasi gumagana iyong utak mo, nagiging creative ka.”

We stan you, Heart! Keep on thriving and we believe in you. Her story is a clear testament that anyone, no matter the status in life, can experience depression. Let this be reminder for everyone to be sensitive when putting out hate out there.
