Free EDSA Bus Ride to resume on November

An early gift for the commuters as EDSA bus and jeepneys will finally resume its free rides from November to December.

In the press conference at Quezon City Land Transportation and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) announced the resumption of Libreng Sakay program.

The LFTRB Chairman Teofilo Guadiz stated on Monday that the Edsa Carousel bus and jeepneys will be offering free rides on November 1.

The free bus rides will be available across the entire National Capital Region (NCR). However,it will not be limited to EDSA.

There will be a release of the funds this month and they will bring back Libreng Sakay program for the commuters. He also stated that they will prioritize Metro Manila, including jeepneys.

The joint circular for the 1.3 billion funding of the service contracting program has already been approved, saide

“Iyong P1.3 billion tapos na po iyong joint memorandum circular. Ibaba na po ang pera. Alam mo ang hinahabol namin doon November-December para maagang pamaskong handog ng LTFRB,” he added.

The resumption of the Libreng Sakay program will be an early holiday gift of LTFRB for the commuters.

The Free EDSA Bus rides is a part of Libreng Sakay program has ended in January this year. As we remember.

This will benefit most of the commuters of Metro Manila. According to the Department of Transportation, the EDSA Bus Carousel can accommodate around 320,000 to 390,000 passengers daily basis.

However, the service transportation fare now ranges from 15 pesos to 75 pesos. It is depending on the destination in 23 bus stops.
