Regional competition, supported by Epson Southeast Asia and Epson Australia, celebrates the creativity and technical skill of panoramic photographers.
PHILIPPINES – Epson has announced the winners of the 17th Epson International Pano Awards, celebrating exceptional panoramic photography and highlighting the talent of photographers from Southeast Asia.
For the third consecutive year, Epson Southeast Asia and Epson Australia serve as joint major sponsors of the competition. Their continued support gives photographers across the region a platform to showcase their work alongside outstanding panoramic images from around the world.
Bangkok Photographer Wins Southeast Asia Title
Wutimet Bunyasirisith, a Bangkok-based landscape, fine art, and travel photographer, has won the 2026 Southeast Asia Open Photographer of the Year title.
His winning image, The Emerald Arch Over Lofoten, Norway, captures a full-arch aurora borealis framing a mountain peak and reflecting across the icy coastal waters.
Moreover, Bunyasirisith explained that the Northern Lights suddenly intensified and curved around the mountain, creating a scene too vast to capture in a single frame. He combined multiple images into a panorama to reveal the complete arc of the aurora above the peak.
Epson Celebrates Southeast Asian Creativity
Siew Jin Kiat, Regional Managing Director of Epson Southeast Asia, praised the region’s photographers for their creativity and technical expertise.
“We are thrilled to celebrate the exceptional talent emerging from Southeast Asia for the third year running. Wutimet’s success reflects a continuing trend of Southeast Asian photographers venturing to distant global landscapes to capture back awe-inspiring, world-class panoramic visuals,” he said.
He further added that Wutimet’s work demonstrates the passion, vision, and technical discipline of the region’s creative community. Epson, he said, remains committed to supporting visual storytellers with professional printing solutions that preserve the depth, scale, and also rich colors of their photographs.
Curator Praises Technical Excellence
Competition Curator David Evans also highlighted the skill required to capture panoramic images, especially under challenging conditions.
“Panoramic photography demands a unique balance of artistic vision and technical mastery, particularly when faced with unpredictable elements like the Northern Lights. Wutimet’s ability to execute a flawless full-arch composition in sub-zero temperatures is nothing short of masterly,” Evans said.
He also praised Southeast Asian photographers for continually pushing the boundaries of scale and visual storytelling in the global competition.
Epson Supports Photographers with Imaging Technology
Through their continued sponsorship, Epson Southeast Asia and Epson Australia support photographers with professional imaging technology, including the SureColor photo printers and ultra-slim projectors. These solutions deliver accurate colors and durable, archival-quality prints.
