As part of the Bioessence anniversary celebration, us at Village Pipol had the opportunity to try out one of most talked-about non-invasive skin rejuvenation procedures in today’s skin care conversations — microneedling.
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic treatment specifically innovated to rejuvenate the skin, improve its texture, bring back its tone, and build firmness. Also known as collagen induction therapy, the process of microneedling involves using a device with ultra-fine needles that create controlled micro-injuries on the skin’s surface.
By using a device with fine needles, it creates the micro-injuries on the skin’s surface, which prompts the body’s natural healing process and boosts collagen and elastin production, aimed to “heal” those wounds.
In our fast-paced lives, time is as precious and fragile as our skin. This is why microneedling has become a quick, go-to treatment for those seeking smoother, firmer, and a more radiant glow. Unlike traditional cosmetic procedures, microneedling takes only approximately 30-60 minutes, including its numbing session.
For this particular approach, hydration was our top priority. It wasn’t like PRP, which focuses more on skin rejuvenation on a deeper level. Our session focused on skin nourishment while gently stimulating collagen production.

The procedure started off with skin prepping. You can tell that Bioessence staff absolutely prioritize your skin’s delicateness because of their precise, step-by-step process. They also clearly explain each step so customers know exactly what will happen.
Skin-prepping took longer than anticipated — which lets us know that the staff particular with every move they made. The skin prep included cleansing milk, skin moisturizing, and steaming. The staff also did gentle facial massages in order to improve blood circulation in the skin. Lastly, picking became our favorite part as it removed whiteheads and blackheads on the face.

Moving onto the actual microneedling procedure, it was indeed faster than any other skin procedures in the market and less painful, guaranteeing its safety and suitability for almost everybody.

Because of the micro-injuries triggering the inflammatory response, a bit of skin inflammation, redness, and swelling must be expected in order for collagen production to increase. Gentle massages techniques can help alleviate your skin’s inflammation.
Micropeeling can also be expected because the needles target the skin’s epidermis but worry not — moisturizers can be your best friend for this!
For the first twenty four-hours, facial washing and application of heavy skin care products must be paused. They also advised us to stay out of direct sunlight and to make sure we used a high-SPF sunscreen.
Aside from their extensive care, the amenities are also top-notch. Complete in equipment and approachable staff — it was the perfect ambiance to keep you composed throughout your procedure. Not only did our skin get a chance to be restored, but our overall composure as well!
The Result
Results show in about three to seven days. A week after the treatment, a bit of redness and peeling remained, but the skin felt smoother and more hydrated, with a brighter glow. The collagen induction left the skin feeling noticeably more velvety and firm.
Thanks to Bioessence Philippines’s skin care experts, top-grade equipment, and welcoming staff, the overall experience exceeded our expectations as first-timers. We’ve now become familiar with the skin miracle of microneedling.
