Berde Renewables Clinches Four Industry Awards in Solar Quarter PH 2025

Berde Renewables cements its status as a powerhouse in the clean energy sector, delivering stellar growth in the first half of 2025 and spearheading expansive projects across Southeast Asia as it prepares for global ambitions.

Berde Renewables, a leading Philippine clean energy company and portfolio company of global infrastructure investment firm I Squared Capital, is rapidly emerging as one of Southeast Asia’s foremost drivers of renewable energy.

Backed by iSquared’s $50 billion in assets under management, Berde has expanded its operational and development footprint across the region. In the Philippines, the company has secured 47 MW of awarded projects, with 31 MW currently under construction and a 210 MW active pipeline. In Thailand, Berde has entered into a landmark joint venture with Power Systems and Solutions Co. Ltd. to co-develop 300 MW of projects over the next three years.

Its regional impact and execution capabilities were recently recognized at the Solar Quarter Week PH 2025 Leadership Awards. Berde earned multiple recognitions, including Solar Company of the Year: Developer, affirming its leadership in clean energy development across the commercial, industrial, and institutional sectors.

“We are honored to be recognized as a financially strong, impact-driven company trusted by industry leaders. This award reflects the strength of our business model and our role in accelerating the clean energy transition in the Philippines and beyond,” said Patrick Zhu, President and Co-founder of Berde Renewables.

Unlock More Clean Energy

As it scales up, Berde is open to partnerships with land and property owners, commercial and industrial businesses, and solar co-developers nationwide. These collaborations aim to unlock more clean energy capacity through site development, rooftop installations, and utility-scale solar projects that support the country’s energy goals.

Since its founding, Berde has generated over 500 local jobs and expanded its presence across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. By partnering with commercial and industrial businesses nationwide, Berde is helping drive the transition to renewable energy, delivering cost savings, enhancing grid resilience, and providing businesses with long-term stability by reducing exposure to volatile energy markets.

Earlier this year, Berde strengthened its presence in Mindanao through engagements with the Department of Energy (DOE), the Board of Investments (BOI), and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), reaffirming its commitment to inclusive energy development. As it accelerates project development, the company continues to invest in asset monitoring innovation and risk management practices to ensure high-performance operations across all sites.

Berde’s project success further validated with the Best Solar Project Deal award, recognizing its landmark joint venture with Power Systems and Solutions Co. Ltd. (PSS) in Thailand, alongside the 8.4 MWp solar PPA with KCC Malls and Biotech Farms in Mindanao. These zero-CAPEX initiatives underscore Berde’s growing influence, advancing clean energy adoption in Mindanao while extending its reach to international markets.

“These projects are a testament to our commitment to delivering high-impact, zero-CAPEX solar solutions that provide real savings and sustainability benefits to our clients,” said Philip Roxas, Commercial Director at Berde Renewables.

This operational excellence has translated into industry recognition. Two of Berde’s internal divisions won top honors at the Team Excellence Awards. Furthermore, the Commercial & Development Division, recognized as Best Sales Team of the Year for securing a total of 47 MWp of awarded solar capacity, launching the Berde Renewables Collaboration Summit, and strengthening field-force productivity.
