From being a reserved teen in California to an established individual, Kyle Amor is no stranger to transformation. With a creative soul that stretches far beyond the runway, he’s built a life that blends art, fitness, and adventure.
Though modeling was never his first choice, it’s a path that has shaped his confidence, challenged his introverted nature, and opened up the world for him. Now, at 38, Kyle continues to evolve—whether through traveling, art, or diving back into modeling.
In this feature, we take a look at Kyle’s journey from a shy teen to a creative force, all while staying true to what inspires him most.
From Shy Teen to Model
His journey into modeling didn’t start with a dream of runways or photo shoots. At just 15, Kyle was scouted at a mall, but at the time, he didn’t think much of it. He was shy, and the idea of being in the spotlight didn’t sit well with his introverted nature. It wasn’t until his early 20s, when agents in Los Angeles and Manila started noticing him again.
As I started to get noticed again by agents and managers in both LA and Manila, my interest began to grow. After giving it some thought, it did eventually become something that I wanted to do at some point in my life because I felt the urge to challenge my introverted self with something different.

Over the years, modeling has opened doors for him, building his confidence and teaching him the importance of taking care of his body and mind. One of his standout projects was a campaign with Century Tuna, where his fitness journey came full circle. It was the first time he was hired for his physique, a major milestone that spoke volumes about his dedication to fitness.
It was a significant project for him at the time, as it encouraged him to prioritize his physical health and instilled a sense of pride in being able to speak lines in Tagalog, particularly because he struggled with never feeling ‘Filipino enough.’
Art as an Escape
While modeling has given him visibility, his creative side continues to shape his perspective on life. Art allows him to process emotions and find peace in chaos. Drawing and content creation have always been part of his life, and he finds inspiration in the world around him—from the architecture of new cities he visits to the smallest moments, like the scent of a dish or specific lyrics of a song.

My creativity allows me to accept both negative and positive aspects in life wholeheartedly as a part of reality. I’ve learned to not worry about the things in life I cannot change. I can only focus on moments that inspire me to be better. The way I see it, all experiences—good and bad—make life and art more meaningful.
Kyle on finding meaning in creativity
Balancing his creative passions with his day-to-day life can be a challenge, but Kyle has managed to carve out space for everything. Fitness is a non-negotiable part of his routine—he stays active with weightlifting, personal training, and walking. He’s also a creative director and founder of his design studio—Kyle Amor Design. With his passion for the arts, Kyle envisions a variety of exciting projects.
For potential creative projects, I’d love to work on a small art show sometime in the future. I have some ideas on what it would entail, but that’s still in the early stages of conception— so we’ll see! Lastly, I would also love to be in and collaborate with others on more creative photoshoots in Manila and Asia, if given the opportunity.

Travel as a Path to Self-Discovery

Travel is another major influence on his creativity. It’s like having a physical, mental and creative reset. Recently, a trip to the Philippines was especially meaningful. Not only did he reconnect with family, but the experience also helped him heal from personal loss. The beautiful landscapes of Palawan and the rich culture of Tayabas were a reset. It gave him both creative and emotional space to breathe.
This trip to Tayabas was supposed to be for my mother, but I had to take her place after she passed away. It was physically and emotionally draining to say the least, but I’m glad I got to finally visit. A lot of things reminded me of her and I was inspired all over again.

Furthermore, when Kyle travels, his creativity is sparked by a variety of influences. In modeling, he becomes more open to experimenting with trends and aesthetics that he might never have considered back home. His artwork, too, is shaped by his surroundings—he often draws inspiration from the unique patterns in buildings, structures, or landscapes he encounters.
Even the simplest things, like the scent of a dish or the lyrics of a song, can evoke a feeling that pushes him to sketch or create new video content. For Kyle, every travel experience reignites his personal and professional artistic expression.
What’s Next for Kyle Amor?

Looking ahead, Kyle’s future is filled with exciting plans. He’s dedicating more time to his family’s projects in the Philippines. He’s also considering a return to modeling with fresh eyes, focusing on fun, creative projects that inspire him.
For anyone considering a career in modeling or the creative fields, Kyle’s advice is simple: just go for it
It’ll seem scary at first, but you’ll only benefit from the impact it’ll have in your life whether you become successful in the field or not. Once you look back at yourself standing in front of one person at a VTR or dozens of people at a shoot or thousands of people on stage, all the other important moments that come later in life seem less scary.
With a blend of ambition, creativity, and a willingness to embrace new challenges, Kyle Amor proves that it’s never too late to follow your passions—whether you’re in front of the camera, behind the canvas, or exploring a new destination.

A lot of skills can be learned with practice and patience. Create and consistently update your art portfolio— clients want to see your work! Develop and master your skills so that you become someone who is sought after.
And of course, with whatever you do, don’t be afraid of failing.
