THE WORLD’S FIRST ZERO-FLICKER DISPLAY
The HONOR 90 features a 6.7-inch AMOLED Quad-curved Floating Screen. Additionally, this screen supports TÜV Rheinland-certified eye protection technology. Notably, it incorporates industry-leading PWM Dimming, achieving a pulse width of up to 3,840Hz. Additionally, this innovation secures the TÜV Rheinland Flicker Free Certification. The display showcases a sharp 2664 x 1200 resolution, complemented by a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. Futhermore, these combined elements deliver a comfortable, flicker-free viewing experience clearly making HONOR 90 the world’s first Zero-flicker display smartphone.
Meanwhile, some may perceive this as a mere compass, but I consider it a vital and caring feature. Kudos, HONOR! In comparison to an iPhone, we were genuinely impressed by the flicker-free performance of the HONOR 90. Moreover, extended usage led to minimal to no eye strain. Furthermore, this held true even while indulging in Netflix’s HDR-certified K-Dramas on this model. Moreover, this quality resonates well with today’s content-consuming generation, who spend hours on smartphones.

Straight out of the box, the HONOR 90 5G boasts a rear triple-camera setup: a 200MP Matrix Camera, a 12MP Ultra Wide and Macro Camera, and a 2MP Depth Camera for artistic bokeh effects. Moreover, it features a 1/1.4-inch sensor, a 25% size increase from the previous generation, enhancing light sensitivity by 11%. With a remarkable 200 million pixels per shot, even zooming to 1/8 retains unparalleled clarity.
Speaking from years in the mobile phone industry, I didn’t anticipate much from its camera. However, I’ve seen the use of camera software enhancers to market phones with higher megapixels. Nevertheless, the HONOR 90 proved me wrong. During an event, I was genuinely impressed by the exceptional photo quality, clarity, and intricate details it delivered. Personally, I appreciate its built-in beauty effect that conceals imperfections. Often, we resort to third-party apps to hide flaws, but the HONOR 90 stands out, delivering natural-looking selfies. Furthermore, even with beauty effects off, selfie details and clarity remain exceptional.

Enhancing Video Recording with AI
The HONOR 90 integrates AI technology for seamless video recording, a boon for content creators seeking efficiency. Additionally, this AI analyzes scenes, suggesting optimal modes like Portrait Video, HDR Video, Close-up, Multi-video, and Solo-cut. Moreover, it features AI Sharpening and AI SR Technology for enhanced dynamic, sharp, and clear scenes. Additionally, HDR and HDR+ effects enhance videos, rendering vivid colors and top-notch quality.

I genuinely commend the HONOR team’s camera endeavor. It excels, offering users an innovative and enriched photography and videography experience right in their palm through the Honor 90 smartphone. Observe the sample video clip below.
PERFORMANCE AND EFFICIENCY
The new Honor 90 5G is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and a 66W Super Charge wall charger. To test its charging prowess, we purposely drained the battery overnight and began testing at around 11:49 AM with a mere 1% charge.
Moreover, in less than 24 minutes, it reached 46% capacity. By approximately 1:03 PM, merely 74 minutes later, it hit a full 100% charge.
Despite being about 10 minutes behind the advertised feature of achieving 45% charge in 15 minutes, this model undeniably excels in rapid charging, enhancing its appeal in the mid-range category.
Advancing to the processor, the Honor 90 features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition 5G (4nm). In addition, this octa-core chip boasts 20% improved graphics and 30% faster AI performance compared to the Snapdragon 778G. Operating on the Android 13-based HONOR MagicOS 7.1, the phone offers an optimized experience.
Our unit is equipped with 12GB RAM + 256GB ROM, while options include 8GB+256GB or 12GB+512GB. Vital phone features include WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, NFC, LTE, 4G, and 5G.
To gauge its performance, we subjected the device to diverse benchmarking tests using apps such as AnTuTu, Geekbench 6, 3D Mark, and CPDT.
Here are the HONOR 90 5G benchmarks:

- Geekbench 6: 1056 (single-core), 3,036 (multi-core)
- 3D Mark Wild Life: 3134 at an average of 18.80 fps
- CPDT: Sequential write speeds of 525.65MB/s, sequential read speeds of 573MB/s.
Gaming Performance Unveiled
Regarding gaming, the HONOR 90 5G flawlessly delivers smooth gameplay in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. It sustains this even at maximum settings—Super Refresh Rate and Ultra Graphics. Crucially, play on your own terms, adjusting settings for personal comfort. In our testing, the HONOR 90 offered a commendable gaming experience.

Amid the Philippines’ competitive mobile industry, HONOR stands as a core player, delivering value-packed, quality devices to Filipinos.
The HONOR 90 exemplifies mid-range market revolution with rich features and advanced technology. As highlighted in our initial impressions, its aesthetics exude premium vibes. However, glass panels are prone to fingerprints and smudges, a minor drawback.
In terms of performance, navigation is seamless, boasting minimal delays, while its innovative eye-friendly technology allows prolonged usage—applause for the Zero Flicker display.
Furthermore, its flagship feature, the 200 MP Camera undeniably delivers vibrant, high-quality photos and videos, thereby elevating mobile photography in the country. While improvement opportunities persist, its value matches its cost.
So, is HONOR poised to claim the mid-range mobile photography throne? Personally, possibly yes. The Honor 90 stands as a compelling choice in this category.
