“Pinakapasko,” is a new collaborative track by the rising artists Cherise Katriel, Cola Cabalcar, and Alyn under WATERWALK Records and Sony Music Entertainment. The song features perfect girl group harmonies while its production is supervised delicately and fine-tuned for a jolly, loving, and relaxing vibe.
According to Cola Cabalcar, the soul/pop rookie, “Pinakapasko” lets us feel and takes us to the reason why we continue to celebrate annually the most incredible gift humankind has received.
“Christmas was meant for celebrating the birth of the Messiah. To quote our mentor and resident composer Jungee Marcelo, it’s supposed to encapsulate the very essence of God’s plan of salvation via the birth of Jesus, the Messiah. The ultimate Christmas celebration may very well be this: acknowledging and accepting Jesus’ wonderful gift of love.”
Cola Cabalcar
The rising artists’ mentor and composer of the song, Jungee Marcelo, wrote and produced “Pinakapasko” as their way of giving thanks to Jesus Christ, the true celebrant in this yuletide season. They also made a modern twist to the tradition of making Christmas songs by giving Cherise, Cola, and Alyn a splash of sunshine and some wings to make it ethereal and vibrant.
Cherise Katriel, one of the rising artists, praises the song because of its masterful blend of jazzy and R&B rhythms combined with timeless pop hooks. She also emphasized the beauty that lies in the power of the lyrics of the song.
“It’s not a typical Christmas song you’re used to hearing. Most people are easily hooked to songs that have a catchy beat or tune, and that is what this song has. But that’s just a bonus: when you listen carefully to the lyrics, it will bless you even more.”
