Miss Planet International to continue its pageant next year
Miss Planet International finally addresses the issue surrounding the slew of unsettling incidents that were revealed by its contestants.
In a social media post, the organization announces that it would be postponing the pageant which is currently being held in Uganda. Instead, it will occur in Cambodia in January of the following year.
A few days ago, Miss Planet International came under fire when two contestants spoke out against the pageant. Miss Czech Republic, Tamila Sparrow in particular accused them of “scamming” the contestants.
In response to this concern, the organization explains that the host organizers failed to comply and meet the requirements needed to stage the competition.
They ended their statement by apologizing for any inconvenience the event may have caused.
Another shot for Herlene?
With the announcement that the pageant will push through at a later date, the golden question everyone is asking right now is—will Herlene Budol still compete?
On November 11, Herlene’s manager Wilbert Tolentino announced that they are withdrawing from the pageant. In a statement he released on his Facebook page, Wilbert states that due to uncertainties of the organizers, they decided to step back.
Furthermore, Wilbert expresses that although he is hurt by how things turned out, he is nonetheless hopeful. Saying that no matter what happens, opportunities are still waiting back home.
Herlene, on the other hand, hasn’t spoken out about the whole ordeal as of the time of this writing.
We are sending our love and support to Herlene and her team. We deeply appreciate the time and energy you guys have invested to bring the crown home.
With Herlene’s continuing success, we believe that she will shine brighter and who knows, maybe she’s redirected to something bigger.
We wish you guys a safe journey home and again, thank you for raising our flag.
