Shattering Algorithm: How Patty Gonzales decodes tech’s complex space

In this fast paced world, sometimes, we crave something slow–something gentle. Like a mother soothing a chaotic storm within, the tech industry needs a nuanced touch of a woman who can make complexities turn into something familiar.
The story of Patty Gonzales though, is somewhat unique from the cohort of the tech marketing leads. Some really looked forward to being in the industry, but she was just simply, deeply, drawn into its orbit.

“I didn’t actually start in marketing, nor was I in the tech industry,” she reveals. “But everything changed when I handled a client that was a tech brand.”
Technology gradually permeated lives, and she witnessed how it reshaped the landscape of human interaction and behavior.
“So when an opportunity opened to work for a tech brand, and in marketing, I grabbed it without hesitation,” Gonzales, now realme Philippines’ Marketing Communications Lead, recounts.
As one of the few Filipinas who dismantle gender barriers, Gonzales did not just simply become one; she led.
“Stepping into this world, I knew I had to navigate through certain challenges. But instead of focusing on the perceptions, I focused on what I could control which is delivering results,” she fondly shares.

Gonzales believed that talk was cheap and results were the currency. This belief would let her strategic campaigns and measurable success speak for herself.
“The industry is evolving, and I’m proud to be part of that change—showing that success in this space isn’t about gender but about skill, strategy, and execution,” she says.
The tech industry, surprisingly, has made Gonzales more human. Just like any of us, she also felt the inevitable–love-hate dynamic in her work.
“I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t tough. The tech industry is fast-paced, and the competition is relentless. Just when you think you’ve nailed something, the landscape shifts, and you have to adapt all over again,” she admits.
With women being underrepresented in the tech space, knowing that there are women like Patty Gonzales in the field, will fuel the courage of aspiring women to embrace the same path.

“To all the young women aspiring to break into the tech industry, just be yourself. You don’thave to fit into a mold or prove yourself by being someone you’re not. What matters is staying grounded, understanding your market, and delivering results that speak for themselves,” Gonzales says.
