LOOK: Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu’s stunning official portrait
The Miss Universe Organization reveals the official portrait of the new Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu on Instagram moments after her grand victory!
The new queen serves us with her regal looks, donning the Mouawad crown. Truly, she exudes the charisma of what a winner should be.
Harnaaz of India stands out among the 80 candidates this year. She breaks India’s 21-year drought from the main title.
The beauty queen succeeds Miss Universe 2020, Andrea Meza of Mexico.
Meanwhile, Miss Universe Paraguay Nadia Ferreria takes second place, followed by Miss Universe South Africa Lalela Mswane in third place.
The 21-year-old Harnaaz is an advocate for women empowerment, as she draws inspiration from her mother who is a gynecologist.
Hence, her mother’s career meant “breaking generations of patriarchy in her household”.
Harnaaz is driven to support other women the same way as her mother does, by advocating for women’s health and constitutional rights to education, careers, and freedom of choice.
Additionally, she is also an actress. She idolizes Miss World 2000 Priyanka Chopra and her works.
Furthermore, as a natural queen bearing the confidence and responsibility to lead, Harnaaz encourages us with her winning speech:
“Well I think the biggest pressure the youth of today is facing is to believe in themselves to know that you are unique and that’s what makes you beautiful. Stop comparing yourselves with others and let’s talk about more important things happening worldwide. Come out and speak for yourself because you are the leader of your life. You are the voice of your own. I believed in myself and that’s why I’m standing here today.”
Indeed, as a woman of beauty, brains, and power, Harnaaz has what it takes to fulfill her duty as the new Miss Universe.

Meanwhile, our Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez makes it to Top 5. This keeps the consistency of our Filipina queens managing to reach the semi-finals in the competition since 2010.
Congratulations to Harnaaz, Beatrice, and to all the powerful women who are confidently beautiful with a heart!
