One Million Filipinos Empowered with Mission: TAPOSible to Fight Dengue Nationwide

What started as a simple call for dengue awareness has grown into a nationwide movement powered by community action. Mission: TAPOSible, an initiative by SC Johnson’s trusted pest control brands Baygon® and OFF!®, has successfully mobilized over one million Filipinos to take a proactive stand against dengue, proving that collective action remains one of the strongest tools in protecting public health.
This milestone comes at a critical time. In the first half of the year alone, the Philippines recorded more than 123,000 dengue cases, with young children and densely populated urban areas among the most affected. Despite the growing threat, fewer than 20% of Filipinos regularly use pest-control products, revealing a significant gap in preventive behavior. Mission: TAPOSible directly addressed this challenge by turning awareness into action and encouraging Filipinos to make dengue prevention part of their daily routine.
Commitment to Dengue Prevention
Launched in August, the campaign focused on inspiring year-round vigilance through a nationwide community pledge. More than just an awareness drive, Mission: TAPOSible aimed to unite families, households, and barangays in adopting simple but consistent preventive measures to reduce mosquito breeding and exposure.
The initiative kicked off with a large-scale experiential event in Taguig City, featuring interactive educational games, a dengue prevention documentary, and appearances by well-known advocates such as Solenn Heussaff, Nico Bolzico, Melai Cantiveros, Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, and Doc Kai. The campaign then expanded through satellite activations in Bicol, Cebu, and Davao, bringing education and engagement closer to grassroots communities.
Social media and community influencers played a vital role in amplifying the campaign’s message. By tapping trusted local voices, Mission: TAPOSible transformed individual pledges into a unified movement that resonated across neighborhoods nationwide. In less than three months, the campaign surpassed its one-million-pledge goal—an inspiring display of bayanihan and shared responsibility.
Participants shared how the initiative changed their daily habits, from being more mindful of stagnant water to consistently using pest-control products to protect their families. With the Department of Health reporting over 8,400 dengue cases in October alone, the fight is far from over.
Mission: TAPOSible serves as a powerful reminder that dengue prevention starts at home. Baygon® and OFF!® continue to champion simple, consistent actions—using aerosols and coils, applying repellents, and regularly checking for breeding sites—helping Filipino families turn prevention into a way of life.
