Biggest ’12-12’ shopping cart on Lazada worth P2.6 million
The biggest shopping cart in the recent ’12-12’ sale in Lazada had P2.6 million worth of items, double the value of the previous record last month, the online marketplace says.
Lazada said Filipinos bought 6.6 million items in the first 24 hours of ’12-12’, taking advantage of the big discounts on over 12 million products. “There is a growing space for eCommerce in the hearts of Filipinos. As we’ve seen in 11.11 and then again during 12.12, our market is embracing the online shopping experience,” Lazada Philippines CEO Ray Alimurung said.
In fact, Filipino cosmetics manufacturer Ever Bilena turned its events hall into the production floor. Dioceldo Sy, CEO of Ever Bilena, described the sale as a “bright signal” of growing e-commerce in the country.
Lazada said online shoppers filled their cart with shoes, toys, mobile phones, and beauty products. For categories, the most popular among buyers were mobile, mother and baby, fashion, and general merchandise. Filipinos bought 115,000 power banks, 503,000 pairs of shoes, 187,000 toys and 80,000 mobile phones during the sale. Ever Bilena said it received over 40,000 orders across all brands throughout the 3-day Lazada sale.
Meanwhile, the brand donated a total of 6,700 donations to its 11 advocacy partners during the sale event.
