The Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite have been completely leaked, and in addition to all its specifications, we know the expected prices on each of the variant models. You just have to wait until the 24th for the official announcement.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 was the great sensation of the mid-range in 2017. Since its introduction, the industry has changed a lot and in spite of still being a great terminal, it now feels old-fashioned. Therefore, the media and the public are waiting impatiently for this successor, the Xiaomi Mi A2. According to The Free Android, a Polish website has completely revealed the new smartphone of the Chinese company, along with the phone’s little brother, the Xiaomi A2 Lite.
On the back, Xiaomi has included a 20-megapixel sensor with aperture f/1.75 and another of the same aperture of 12 megapixels. Unfortunately, the Xiaomi Mi A2 will not have an NFC chip for mobile payments, something that does not make sense in a smartphone destined to international markets outside of China, where the QR code is very useful for payments. Meanwhile, there will be no 3.5 mm jack, something expected but equally disappointing, when the battery will have a capacity of 3000 mAh. The official European prices are as follows:
- Xiaomi Mi A2 4GB / 32GB: €299
- Xiaomi Mi A2 4GB / 64GB: €319
- Xiaomi Mi A2 6GB / 128GB: €369
It makes some sense because the jump in specifications and components with respect to the previous model is bigger than what should be supposed to a generation of a mid-range smartphone. The real successor seems to be the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, which is in line with the prices of last year’s model. For those who want to pay something less and also have Android One, you’ll have to wait for the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite will be much loved for having an Oreo version based on Android One, but it will also have several aspects that will surely be criticized. In the first place, as it is appreciated, it will arrive with a notch that until now was very controversial. In addition, Xiaomi has equipped it with a micro-USB port instead of USB-C. Also missing, without surprise, the NFC chip.
The 5.84-inch screen will arrive with a 19:9 ratio and Full HD + resolution. The technology will probably be IPS, since using OLED is very expensive even for these ranges and resolutions. The body will also be shorter, with measures of 149.33 x 71.68 x 8.75 mm.
Yes, it will come, on the other hand, with an audio jack on the top, and it will be powered by the Snapdragon 625. It has been and is a very capable chip, given that the price of the smartphone will be €249 according to the Polish website (4GB + 64GB).
