It’s not an unknown fact that getting rid of the excess holiday weight can be very challenging. Luckily, there’s one brand that’s thought of a great way to help everyone go back to their pre-December 25 body, and even lose a couple more inches.
Fit Food Manila is a diet food delivery service that was founded by entrepreneur Ryan Serrano to help people achieve their fitness goals without taking the pleasure out of eating. They deliver freshly-cooked, delicious calorie-counted meals to people not just in Metro Manila, but in nearby provinces as well. The brand, which has amassed a cult-like following because of its delicious and surprisingly filling meals, has recently launched a Ketogenic diet program to help people who want to get on this newest fad.
Simply put, Ketogenic diet is a high fat, very low carb diet that forces the body to enter ketosis. The idea is to deprive the body of carbohydrates, forcing it to enter the ketosis stage where it converts body fats to ketones, which in turn serve as alternative fuel. In this state, your body will have easier access to stored fats, and fat burning is optimized.
“We at Fit Food Manila believe that Filipinos in general—especially the younger ones—are very conscious of what they eat. We all want to be healthier. It’s just we really do not know where to start, how to find the right ingredients, and where to find the time for food preparation,” explains Ryan Serrano. “We’ve taken all these hindrances and created Fit Food Manila a couple of years ago as an all-in-one solution. And it was very successful. Now, with the arrival of the Keto diet, we want to be able to provide the same solution to people who want to be on this diet but are faced with the same obstacles.”
“Each meal will have 70% fat, 25% protein, and 5% carbohydrates. It will absolutely have no grain, sugar, honey, rice, bread, or pasta. The 5% carbohydrate content are net carbs, meaning they do not include fiber,” he adds.
Fit Food Manila’s Keto Program is just as straightforward as their calorie-counted meals. The brand posts their offerings one week in advance on their Instagram and Facebook accounts. Clients can then decide whether they wish to sign-up for the upcoming week based on the dishes. First time clients will have to fill-up an information sheet, which will ask for their delivery address, preferred delivery time, special requests and allergies. Once payment has been made, you’re all set.
A client receives their Keto meals one day in advance. Included in the menu is a meal for breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks. Clients will have the option to opt for regular or large sizes. Each day will set you back from PhP645 to PhP745 plus delivery fee, which is about PhP50-PhP80 per day depending on your location.
“Our meals are prepared and delivered on the same day to guarantee freshness. They are prepared by a team of 15 well-trained kitchen staff headed by two seasoned chefs and a nutritionist. We are very proud of our team, including our riders, who are also trained in proper food handling and are very well-versed with the best routes to take to ensure on time and safe delivery,” adds Serrano.
